The Secret Meeting Resumes the Next Day
Narrator: At 0900 Suzy called the meeting to order. Leah joins in on her Psy-verse. The group went on to adopt 10 articles after the court reporter read them aloud.

Earth Charter
Article 1 – Environmental Harmony
· We shall maintain evidence-based balances by promoting and monitoring modes of consumption, production and reproduction which respect and safeguard the regenerative capacity of the earth’s ecosystem.
· We will continue to reduce waste through efficiency and not seek excessive material luxuries beyond meeting basic needs. The law of Correspondence remains central as a guiding principle of universal balance and a fuller expression of constructive awareness.
Article 2- Equality & Sharing
· We shall share equitably the benefits of natural resources use without discrimination between cultures, race, gender, age, or past, present or future prejudices.
· Maintain strict caps on wealth and enforce severe anti-hoarding rules to encourage maximum cooperation.
Article 3- Anti Corruption
· Continue to promote sustainable development by harmonizing economic goals and the means of attaining them with fundamental ecological, ethical and social values.
· We shall continue to limit drugs, arms, and contaminants on earth.
· We promote viable consensus decision-making in all sectors of society fairly.
· Maintain market prices and economic indicators that reflect the full environmental and social costs of the sustainable products or activities people engage in.
· We shall continue to maintain accurate and verifiable environmental impact assessments in efforts to keep critical balance between people and all life on the planet.
· Maintain rigorous/ practical environmental protection standards universally enforced through AI/ human partnerships.
· Monitor changes in the environmental quality and keep findings available through open and transparent sources. Maintain strategies to prevent, detect, and contain corruption.
Article 4 Anti- Waste
· Manage toxins by redesigning the life cycle of products: reduce the resources used, reuse, and recycle.
· Toxins require critical evaluation due to historical irregularities and insufficient regulation and enforcement. A universal definition for toxins and much greater enforcement, biohazard prevention/ response actions, and drastically improved universal controls over toxins must be maintained.
· The definition of Toxin shall include all natural and synthetic chemicals known or reasonably suspected to cause harm either alone or in combination with other elements or substances (Mutation Theory).
· Weapons of mass destruction will not be permitted on Earth by anyone- no exceptions.
· Advance and put into use scientific and other types of knowledge and technologies that promote sustainable living and protection for the environment.
· Use clean energy methods including- solar, wind, hydra, and biomass renewable clean power sources only.
· Maintain industrial developments with renewable clean energy and renewable resources only.
Article 5 – Transparency in Reporting and Rulemaking
· Hidden budget practices in legislation is not permitted.
· Communication systems may not be monopolized.
· Power is held collectively. Nomadia is organized in decentralized ways. Fundraising in politics remains outlawed and positions are limited to established fair compensation.
Article 6- Fair Justice
· Justice is maintained by Empirical Guard with evidence-based systems to reduce human contamination (controlling for error and bias).
Article 7- Free HealthCare
· The right to health care and education is guaranteed at no cost to anyone and paid for by the common flat tax including reproductive, nutrition, illness prevention, and all healing methods.
· Since acidic diets contribute dramatically to disease, controls on such foods should be maintained.
· Also, much of the past sexually transmitted diseases can be prevented with education and medical solutions/barriers. All these services are maintained and guaranteed for all at no cost.
Article 8 – Free Education K - PhD & Universal Employment
· With revised tax/ monetary systems - education, housing, vocational training, and healthcare can be paid for entirely for everyone on earth.
· Housing is a guaranteed right with no lifetime costs associated whatsoever. Housing is provided at the age of 19. No tax, no annual fees of any kind shall ever be required. This is our response to the inhuman abuses of slavery many past generations suffered.
· Everyone is guaranteed subsidized work and fair universal compensation.
Court Reporter: “This concludes the reading of the Earth Charter adopted by the unanimous votes of the Naturals’ in attendance this day September 11, 2524. I will now yield the remaining time in this session to the honorable Secretary George Anderson.”
Secretary George Anderson:
Technology has shown that mistakes driven by ignorance, unintentional consequences, un-checked need fulfillment, personality flaws and misguided assumed self-interests that deprive the greater good, can be prevented by regulated AI monitoring. Therefore, while we consider arguing with the Universal Council to approve the reduction AI Act, we should carve out some logical exceptions. Of course, most all other activities performed by AI can and should be returned to Naturals.
Many of the egregious atrocities we label as acts of terrorism in history have been carried out within contexts of disparity, injustice, illness, ignorance, access to dangerous weapons, and failures in detection or timely responses to real threats.
Plots of revenge, power, ideological disagreements and resource grabs all paint a long story of conquest and conflict in human history. For example, communications such as Osama bin Laden’s famous titled, Letter to America, and online discussions among extremists were publicly available before the attacks of 911 2001, yet they went largely undetected due to human error and institutional failures. Those failures included having technology misused and being ill-prepared that formerly trained assets could defect or simply have a change in perspective that could alter world events for decades to come.
In the years that followed 911, inadequate responses and flawed intelligence led to further violence and loss of millions of lives worldwide at the hands of unmodified humans. In fact, some of the first autonomous machines were made to kill on battlefields just a decade later after millions were murdered in unjust wars. Warfare was outlawed in 2050 as a part of Nomadia’s founding doctrines as you all are well aware.
Today we have proven the partnership with technology can be safer than ever before. We have eliminated the toxic bi-products, attained controls over glitch phenomenon, and even eliminated mandatory modifications entirely. The improvements in human behaviors are so great, we even were finally able to reduce the recycle rate of deviant humans to the lowest non-natural cause of death rate on record in human history.
These events raise an important question about governance and accountability. If human systems historically repeatedly failed to detect or prevent catastrophic harm committed against each other, then the role of oversight institutions such as the Empirical Guard, deserves very careful debating. Their purpose is to provide systems of justice that are less susceptible to bias and inconsistency, and to help prevent errors in human judgment. The outcomes of the partnership with AI have results no one can contest.
On a final note, never forget we made these tools and we can continue to use them responsibly. Against all odds we made it home!”
Narrator: Audience begins to cheer.
Secretary George Anderson: (Pauses….then resumes his speech)
…As we start this new Earth era, let us fallible humans celebrate our resilience! Thank you all for allowing me to address you on this historic occasion.
Narrator: An applause roars and a chant “New Earth” begins to distort the audio. The signal on Leah’s Psy-Verse zero’s out.
