About the Author & Project
Robert Jackson, PhD Candidate, spent his academic career in philosophy, journalism and psychology. Public policy and security later became specialties with economic security commanding his public service for many decades. He eventually abandoned his research on toxins and climbed back into the artist mode where he produced 300 songs and nearly 2000 artifacts. After retiring early, he looked at the 3000 pages of non-fiction gathering dust and said to himself, “I would like to see that turn into a sci-fi thriller that condenses my thoughts into something fun and hopefully short. Perhaps even understandable”.
With help from Telia Griffin, Film-maker/ writer, the New Earth team delivered this three part book available free online at http://ripstar.cfsites.org http://specialagenttraining.cfsites.org and more.
Rob lives with his wife and two cat’s, one of which stars in the movie in the making.
New Earth is a Sci-Fi-Psy thriller with a romantic twist. The story is set in the year 2524. It sends a strong message to audiences to not take earth for granted. The books guide us along possible futures where healing and cooperation leads to stronger relationships with the natural and spiritual world.

Chapter 1 Mass Exodus Investigative Report on Human Evolutions Status.
Narration: Entry 10,230 AI10 (Mr. Buster’s future-self in Ai Form) Star Date 3001
In 1887 Lord Acton said, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely”.
Our story begins in the year 2524. For the last 500 years we have been told a devastating windstorm forced humanity to evacuate earth and set us adrift into space. Some say this isn’t the first exodus. Ancient Mayan and other found artifacts suggest Earth may have been colonized far earlier than history suggests. These clues present a possibility that we have been looping through our own timelines deciding which pieces we will remember or forget.
AI10 is mission approved to explore and collect evidence to explain why humans exist, and to make observations about what is happening as they evolve that may improve survival probabilities.
After the evacuation of earth in 2050, a critical new policy was enacted. The policy moved us away from regulating toxins to a zero tolerance for all non-essential toxins to help ensure human development could advance with less adverse impacts or needless poisons.
Toxins attack the organs and central nervous system and mutate once combined with other chemicals. This knowledge, available even in the early 20th century, should have been enough to discourage and not permit the manufacture of most toxins to begin with. Thus, the decisions to regulate toxins in the late 19th century were naïve licenses to shatter the genome, the very hereditary information once held as sacred by earlier generations. In the pursuit of profit and technological innovations, humans periodically treated each other as expendable. Many civilizations, ancient to modern condemn corruption and especially despise any attempts to desecrate life. Thus, contamination of blood has long been viewed as being among the worst possible crimes our kind committed leading up to exodus 2050.
The economic collapse of 2025 fractured nations, yet California’s succession was only the first sign of what was coming. Humanity had grown dependent on a centralized ruling class with very few checks and balances. By 2049, that catastrophic mistake took the lives of nearly 70% of Earth’s ten billion people. Not due to a single event, but a chain of failures: food and water scarcity, contamination, and the painful wars born from the pursuit of concentrated wealth.
The scarcity wars that followed wiped out almost everyone else. By the year 2050, only 1% of humanity remained. A mere 800,000 people. Unfortunately, when the mass exodus began, the off-earth colonies could only accommodate 80,000. Half of the first three generations died under the strict conditions required to maintain life in early orbital society that became known as Nomadia.
Over the next 7 generations we managed to expand 6 times the initial capacity, reaching roughly 480,000 people. The restoration of earth was pioneered over the last 500 years by our most advanced AI and bio-synthetic entities. Reaching equilibrium goals for Earth to sustain life became inevitable.
To prevent repeating the failures of Earth-1, new cultural norms emerged. Inequity was minimized, and hierarchy became a measure of responsibility rather than privilege. Leadership offered only modest advantages -nothing like the disparities that once fueled prejudice, corruption, and the primitive divide-and-conquer systems of the past. Our best science draws a correlation between mass violence and the pursuit of gratification---a distortion of “success” that was reduced to materialistic, impulsive, and short-sighted self-interest. Self-gratification can cloud judgment and alter priorities, especially when the cultural values those goals reward what is convenient rather than what is sustainable.
What is often labeled “normal behavior” is often based on the perceiver’s notion of comfort, avoidance of pain, and the pursuit of self-interest. These behaviors are shaped by cultural boundaries that can be misinformed or strained by short term conditions such as age, limited perspective, or destructive social trends that pit groups against one another.
More effective means of controlling behavior emerged using AI3 efficient mental and emotional monitoring systems. Technology drove self-optimizing real-time decision making that radically reduced errors and nearly eradicated all destructive human behavior attributed largely to bias, ignorance or gaps in awareness caused by competing variables of perception. The breakthrough is credited as humanities longest peace period in recorded history and celebrated as the key reason for survival in the space age.
Post-earth life included stiff penalties for anyone abusing hazardous materials or posing threats to the community. By 2100, the partnership with AI3 nearly eliminated the toxic and corruption problems of the industrial age.
Institutionalizing a near zero tolerance policy for destructive behavior and non-essential toxins supported the use of alternative sustainable materials and recycling that were key to the reduction of waste products and crime in our space stations.
The decision to eliminate deviants rather than rehabilitate was closely associated with the concept of recycling as the energy of the eliminated humans was harvested to save other humans and support the habitat preserved in the orbital living stations.
Restructuring industries to eliminate all non-essential waste and implementing manufacturing practices that utilized safer alternatives was critical in sustaining close-quarter living. Combined with strict air and dietary controls, the survival of our species depended on error prevention, readiness, and response protocols that minimized and contained threats and losses.
By examining past evidence we learned past cycles of rule on Earth were shrouded with inconsistencies, weak commitments, unfair bias and poor judgement. In just a small window of human history (post enlightenment) the rise of the scientific age challenged the preservation and advancement of the quality of life which remained sporadic and ill-defined. Again and again early un-modified humans proved themselves unreliable, undisciplined and mostly impulse driven. Partisan politics and corruption were dominant-especially in the West. Preserving mutual best interests or symbiosis with the planet was scarce. Thus, in the years following the exodus, we shaped new cultures and common rules grounded in principles better suited for the Orbital Age. We refined and validated strategies partnering with machines proven to help us survive.
AI3, after decades of failed attempts, finally was able to control bias and ignorance. AI having long been a self-learning machine, was now upgrading prior coding in the earlier generations of AI achieving for the first time a nearly glitch free system in full SYNC.
For humans opting to be modified with AI3 as part of their mental processing and reflex motor systems, AI3 helped control compromised judgement due to biological or emotional states such as being hungry, or becoming angry, or becoming fearful where primitive instincts sometimes try to hi-jack or dismiss the logical application of intelligence.
AI3 even reduced error ridden impulses that explain how people often become unreasonable by linking the prefrontal cortex to amygdala and the hypothalamus in situations the prefrontal or reasoning center of the brain normally would be shut off. This was the final piece in the emotional intelligence systems challenge and delivered more well-rounded modified humans with exceeding glitch resistance security.
Together the AI3 and Naturals (those choosing not to be modified) advanced the common trust. We constantly guard against hypocritical deficient action deemed corrupt, wasteful, or found harmful to the common good.
According to reports coming from our AI partners, Earth’s repair is nearly complete. Notices for those selected to re-inhabit the earth will be issued soon. The challenge of building the New Earth awaits us as we continue to define the future of our people.
Survival was the leading measure of success for the society of 2525. Nomadia’s culture carries generations of values shaped by collective machine evidence based and natural nurturing aimed to advance the optimization of life. Individualism and hoarding became associated with primitive societies and frowned upon. Likewise, competition became a collective exercise of mutual benefit rather than a private gain concept.
Debates about returning people to earth and the ratio of modified humans versus naturals have not ended since the day the question was first raised.
Orbital Nomadia society decentralized leadership and shifted power to the frontlines. The rise and fall of the industrial period 1200 to 2050 is riddled with observations of failed stewardship. The evidence showed that corruption was the main reason that Earth 1 was stagnant for thousands of years. Trends in health, education, poverty, war, crime, resource use and distribution, rate and extent of concentrated wealth and the contamination of natural habitats all reinforced the conclusion of Earth’s mismanagement. True prosperity was tarnished by careless attempts to ignore natural laws.
Depletion theory explains how all unsustainable systems eventually self-destruct. With nearly all governance and trade relying on non-renewable resources, Earth 1 industrial societies were significantly limited from their start.
Since the birth of the Orbital Age, Nomadia has limited transactional relations for non-essential goods and services. All essentials became free and universal. By all accounts, Nomadia has become the definition of optimized culture. One built on sharing and striving for collective survival. Peace has reigned for the last 500 years with record breaking statistics on markers indicating a high quality of life with maximized safety, wellness and joy. Our cooperation with AI3 has allowed us to survive living in space with one of the highest qualities of life records in human history. Still, the pending return to earth is presenting new concerns about our future and about the continued roles AI may play. |
